The rural economy's vitality hinges on generating economic opportunities within promising sectors to ensure a sufficient income that bolsters the purchasing power of rural communities. This vitality should extend beyond agriculture alone, especially considering the socio-economic shifts shaping the Moroccan landscape and its rural areas. It's pertinent to foster synergies with other sectors such as fishing, rural tourism, and crafts to reinvigorate and advance the rural economy. Consequently, our research endeavors to answer the pivotal question: How do managerial decisions and the characteristics of local authorities in El Haouz contribute to the sustainable development of rural areas?
This article seeks to assess the impact of local authorities' characteristics and their investment expenditures on the progress of rural territories. We aim to ascertain to what degree the attributes of local authorities and their investment allocations influence rural development. Our hypotheses are scrutinized through a sample of rural local authorities within the El Haouz Province. The outcomes of our logistic regression analyses indicate that the likelihood of territorial development varies based on a range of variables identified in our literature review.
