A Systematic Review of the Impact of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence on Entrepreneurial Intent: Dynamics and Implications for Digital Entrepreneurship

This article explores the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on digital entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial intention, addressing contemporary challenges while highlighting its transformative role in fostering innovations and business opportunities. It is a systematic literature review that examines existing research on the integration of AI in entrepreneurship, drawing on major studies to identify current and future trends. The analysis is guided by four main questions: the relationship between digital entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial intention, and AI; the influence of digital technologies on entrepreneurial intentions; how AI supports digital entrepreneurship and business creation; and the gaps in research frameworks regarding the impact of digital technologies on entrepreneurship.
The study is based on a systematic literature review, selecting works by recognized researchers from the Scopus database, covering the period from 1986 to 2024. The methodology follows a structured approach to collect and analyze data from the selected studies. The article begins with an introduction to the topic, details the methodology, and then summarizes and analyzes the main findings of the reviewed literature. It explores the complex relationship between digital entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial intention, and AI, emphasizing AI's role in transforming entrepreneurial processes. The findings highlight the need for an ethical and thoughtful approach to integrating AI into entrepreneurship, recognizing its immense potential while addressing research gaps and ethical considerations.
